Moving Your Avatar via Chat

Entering a BOP space closed with the mention of a message to move your avatar within a BOP space. This is shown below:

Notice the “>” - if you don’t start a message with it, BOPSpace will simply consider your input to be conversation. You don’t see anything else after moving but other chat clients present will see

and the host space will now look like

You can use the >location message to confirm that your avatar has moved 1 meter in the z direction

Note that >location is a message whose results are only seen by you

You may be wondering just what other messages are understood within BOPSpace. There are many - literally hundreds but right now to keep the bugs to a minimum and ensure that security is maintained, only a small number work. Use the >capabilities message to see what you can do at any time

In this section, we’ve covered those that have something to do with your avatar so that’s it for now. Next we’ll look at the messages for scanning the environment and creating new objects.
